The Club is aware of abhorrent homophobic chanting from sections of our away support at Old Trafford today.

This is simply unacceptable, hugely offensive and no way to show support for the team.

The Club will be working closely with the Police and stewards to identify anyone instigating or joining in with the chanting - we shall take the strongest possible action in accordance with our Sanctions and Banning Policy.

Supporters in attendance today can report anything they’ve seen or heard in confidence to supporterservices@tottenhamhotspur.com

We shall be continuing our work with our LGBTQ+ supporters’ association, Proud Lilywhites, to ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment for all fans on matchdays.

We are justly proud of our superb and loyal support, home and away. However, we all have a responsibility to act as ambassadors of Tottenham Hotspur and discrimination of any kind has no place at our Club.

Det er jo ikke noe de ønsker, vil vel helst unngå den type oppmerksomhet så da regner jeg med at de vet noe.

      Hørte i hvert fall ikke noe unisont, så da er det vel helst snakk om idiotiske utrop fra enkeltpersoner.
      Eller et forsøk på humor som ikke falt helt i god jord.

          ToreG forhåpentligvis det siste du sier og reaksjoner fra noen overfølsomme, føleriet står sterkt for tiden.

            Er jo en del av de "tradisjonelle" chantene som har relativt drøyt innhold; uten at jeg tror at det betyr at de som synger dem i fullt alvor mener det de synger (edit: det er slik jeg ser det for de fleste humoristisk fremfor hatefullt ment - som det også blir påpekt over). Meen så er det jo visse temaer samfunnet nå mener at man ikke under noen omstendigheter skal tulle med lenger...

            UK har vel ganske aggressive hate crime lover også.

              Det er feks ganske så vanlig blant enkelte supportere å omtale Chelsea og deres supportere som "rent boys". Uten annet grunnlag enn spekulasjon så ville jeg ha satt en knapp på at det var en chant som inneholdt akkurat det uttrykket.

              Knut UK har vel ganske aggressive hate crime lover også.

              Som komisk nok fører til at det første man tenker når man ser noe som det her er; "hvor ille var det egentlig?"

              Tiden vil vise hva man finner ut. Jeg mener ikke at man skal ta lett på denne slags ting, men utrolig vanskelig å bevise. Rudiger-historien osv.

                Husker det var mye prat om at Cuntbell kjørte i den andre fila, og det blei sunget noe greier rundt det. Men det er det eneste jeg kan komme på i det landskapet.

                Mot Brighton skal visstnok hjemmevertene ha på seg bodycams for å evt kunne identifisere bortesupportere som ikke "oppfører seg".

                Ser ikke noe "homofobisk" i den sangen, kan godt være det de sier er sant. Her må vi få en utallelse fra Arteta for å komme til bunns.

                Dear Supporter,

                We should firstly like to thank our fans for their cooperation following our previous communication on this matter ahead of the Brighton away fixture, at which there were no reports of homophobic chanting.

                Ahead of tomorrow’s home fixture with West Ham United, we will not be complacent and are therefore reminding supporters that the Club takes a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of discrimination.

                Our stewards will once again be wearing body cams to identify any individuals involved in unacceptable chanting so that the Club can take the strongest possible action, in line with our Sanctions & Banning Policy.

                For the avoidance of doubt, this includes the Dominic Solanke chant with reference to Mikel Arteta and any use of the term ‘Rent Boy’ – which the Crown Prosecution Service considers a homophobic slur and hate crime.

                Stewards will identify those instigating and participating in any such chants – including those covering their mouths. Abuse and intimidation towards our stewards will not be tolerated either, with bans issued where necessary.

                Hang på Bricklayers før kamp hvor flere av disse sangene ble sunget, og selv om jeg ikke er tilhenger av denne typen begrensninger av ytringsfriheten, så forstår jeg jo hvorfor de blir karakterisert som noe homofobisk.

                En saksopplysning er at de fleste vertene, på tross av advarselen gjengitt over, tilsynelatende ikke hadde på seg bodycams i dag. Men mulig at en stk "supervisor-vert" jeg så faktisk hadde et på.

                En annen saksopplysning er at, på tross av hva som evt ble sunget på Bricklayers, så oppførte stadion seg eksemplarisk i dag. Ihvertfall det jeg kunne høre.
